Today I was leaving a voicemail for a someone who was interested in renting an apartment here. In my business voice I said, "Hi, this is Tanya from Star One Apartments and I'm returning your call about the apartment for rent ... " in the background Kali yells as loud as she can, "Mom, I'm going to go poop now!" I try to keep talking over her, "please give me a call back at..." but she isn't satisfied when I didn't acknowledge her, and she yells even louder, "Mom! I said I was going to go poop now okay?!"
In the car today, Kali kept going on and on about how we need to pack up for our Easter trip. She was so adamant about us getting ready for it, but I had no idea what she was talking about. We're not planning to go anywhere for the next month. Finally she said, "Mom! We're having Easter vacation! We need to leave soon!" and it hit me: Today was the last day of preschool before Easter vacation, and she thought that meant everyone was packing up and going on vacation. So sweet and innocent. I hope she stays that way for a while.
Kali: Mom, why is Griffey missing a tooth in the front?
(He's not. He just has a huge gap)

A Week in the Life of a 4 Year Old
Playing with the Little People
Lounging by the pool
Taking a field trip to the police heliport
Blowing bubbles for hours
Scootering about
Frolicking in the tub
Funny Things Said This Weekend
Kali: Mom, who is the bad Jesus guy?
Me: Do you mean Satan?
Kali: Ya, he gives us bad words, but Heavenly Father gives us nice words 'cause he loves us.
Tanya: Babe, did Griff take a nap while I was gone today?
Aaron: I don't believe so.
(Either he did, or he didn't. It's not like Griff is in control of his own day, putting himself to sleep if he feels like it.)
Kali: Mom, when I grow up I'm going to like salad.

Arrrrrgh!
Little Griffers is now a 3 year old!
Don't you love his best rendition of a pirate?
He wanted to have a pirate party, and so we did.
Pirate cake? Check.
Tire swing with friends? Check.
Pin the treasure on the map? Check.
a "pirate" dropped off this treasure map, so we all gathered
round while Aaron opened it...
To find the treasure, they would have to go through the jungle
gym, down the slide, through the swings, under the tire swing, around the
drinking fountain, and up the stairs on the little jungle gym.
The pirates' booty
We had Griff's two favorite things: Pizza and apple juice.
Aaron and his map
This is what I do: I feed children.
Shock or excitement over the gifts
Pure elation over gifts
The face of a boy who had the best day of his life.
Happy Birthday Chubbins!
