Christmas Day
This year the kids were more excited than ever before because they really understood what was happening. On Christmas Eve we put them to bed on the floor in our room, so that we wouldn't risk missing their reactions in the morning (this happened to my brother with his kids). They were giggling as we said goodnight because of the excitement. IRONICALLY, when they woke up the next morning (after sleeping in), they did not question or remember why they were on our floor. They just climbed into our bed where they played and talked about non-Christmas things. Finally after about 20 minutes Aaron and I couldn't take it anymore and reminded them that Santa may have come. Then the screaming and joy began...
This year was the year of shock.
I think Aaron was shocked when he pulled out this puppy.
He thought that was his only big gift, so he was shocked again with this one.
I was shocked when I opened my last gift under the tree, only to find about 10 more
wrapped gifts inside
While Aaron and Kali rode their new bikes, Griff and I checked out the half
eaten carrots left behind by the reindeer.
One of my gifts was a sweet camera which Maurice and I were trying to figure out here.
My brother's kids got a trampoline from Santa. Need I say more?
This was taken right before Griff went into surgery on a Care Bear
Christmas Eve
Every year we spend Christmas Eve at my Granny's where we have
a nice dinner and a Christmas program. She always does such a fabulous job,
and it wouldn't be Christmas without her.

Later that night leaving cookies and chocolate milk for Santa.
Last year we discovered that he is sick of regular milk and loves
chocolate milk. Spread the word.

Au Revoir Dirky!
Last week I drove with my dad to drop off my tiny little brother at the MTC in Provo, UT.
I really wasn't looking forward to the long drive but am so glad that I went. I got to spend some extra quality time with him (kid free) before he leaves for France for 2 years.
I am so proud of him and all that he has done to get to this point in his life. He is ready to serve and I know he'll be an awesome missionary!
On the way there he sound asleep.
Eight hours later he fell asleep again.
When we got to Provo it was a winter wonderland

Last morning with Dirky
All set to report to the MTC
We had some time to kill after breakfast so we walked around the temple
grounds and nearly froze to death with the temps in the 30's
One last wave before entering the doors.
Love you Dirky!

What's in a name?
In 1974 my mom went off to BYU where she met her roommate, Kalenn, who became her best friend. Eleven years later my mom gave birth to me and named me Kalenn after her friend (I went by Kalenn until kindergarten, long story. It is now my middle name) Eighteen years later I went off to BYU and was reunited with my BFF Kristen, who later became my roommate for a semester. Nine years after that she gave birth to a little angel whom she named Kalenn. I finally got to meet her a few weeks ago and she is the sweetest thing.
