Naomi



 It's been a long, emotional journey and she is finally here!

On April 26th my niece, Naomi Cureton, was born 11 weeks early.

Yes, 11 weeks early.  She was 1 lb. 6oz and a complete miracle.

With Tasha and Maurice by her side,  she did amazing during the 2 months

 that she was in the NICU in San Francisco.

and on Father's Day she finally came home!

 

Hello baby girl!!

 

She is now a whopping 4 lbs. and growing every day.

 

Needless to say, we love her and so are happy for my sister!

So Long Pre School

On the last day of class, Kali got to be the birthday snack leader

since her birthday is during the summer.

I'm pretty sure it was the happiest day of her life.

My Sister Smells So We Threw Her a Shower

Jk my sister smells delightful.

We did throw her a shower though because we love her

and my sweet little niece that she is adopting.

I didn't take a lot of pics once people were there, but we had a great time.

We had yummy food, music, a few games, a video of Maurice, and tons of gifts.

Leaving Yosemite

Our last day of Yosemite consisted of cleaning up and

 saying goodbye to our awesome camp on the river.

On the car ride home we had these two snuggle butts entertaining us the whole way.

 

Trip highlights-             -Watching Griff climb rocks like a professional.

                                        -Watching Kali ride her princess bike through the valley, keeping

                                          up with the big kids the whole time. 

                                        -Building raging fires each night and sitting around them til the wee hours.

                                        -Finding a bear for the kids to talk about the rest of the trip.

                                        -Finding deer every evening.

                                        -Eating yummy food that Kai and Aaron BBQ'd on the BBQ we hauled up

                                          there.

Yosemite or Bust- Day 3

Both families (9 people) piled into 1 car and drove up an hour long winding road to get to

 the top of the world, also known as Glacier Point.

 

It was breathtaking

 

The lower falls on the left are what we attempted to get to later that day.

 

Let me tell you how this took place:

T-"Hey babe, I dare you to run out onto that forbidden rock that jets out over Yosemite Valley."

A-"okay, I'll do it."

 

Sometimes its worth risking your spouse's life to get a great pic.

 

After checking out Glacier Point, we thought we would squeeze in a short hike to see Vernal Falls.

BIG mistake.  If you are planning to take a 2yr old, 3 yr old, 4 yr old, and a pregnant lady just to the footbridge below the falls, think again.  It was way to strenuous for them, and each adult had to carry someone on their shoulders. It was about an hour of this, uphill. 

 

Finally made it to the bridge, and the falls were so far away, that it wasn't worth it. 

It would have been awesome to go all the way to the falls, but there was no way the kids could have made it. 

 

Kali was such a champ walking almost of all of it on her own.

 

By the time we got back to camp, we had about 10 minutes of sunlight to play in the river.

 

Did I mention that the river was FREEZING, but Kai and Aaron thought it

would be a jolly good time to dive in.

 

Just before dinner, a deer walked through our camp.
