This is When You Know You're Related

Sometimes I'm not sure if Tasha and I are related, until
she meets me downtown wearing the exact same outfit.
Same boots, same wallet, same HSS jacket, and same scarf in another color.

Really?? Really.

Family Band

Something that I love about my spouse:
He's been using his Christmas guitar to learn
lullabies and Primary songs to sing with the kids.

And since Kali always pretends that this push toy is her guitar, Aaron drew the frets on it with marker.  Now they can rock together.

Valentine's

Who knew Valentine's Day would be such a hit with little kids?
We spent the whole week making valentine's like these:

And on Valentine's morning Kali picked out this whole outfit specifically for the holiday.
Heart socks, pink glitter shoes, dress with red sash, pink headband, and candy necklace.  Perfect.

New Beginnings

In case you didn't know, a GREAT deal of my time is spent thinking about, praying for, stressing over, planning for, smiling about my 18 young women at church.
Earlier this month we had our New Beginnings program, to introduce the new theme for the year, and to introduce the Beehives coming into the program.  The night went off perfectly, and we, as a presidency, are so happy that its over!

This picture sums it up perfectly:
Sweet little Beehive with a temple in her sights...
and two crazy leaders stalking her!

Myself and Anne (secretary/new BFF)

Since the theme was "Stand in Holy Places," we played off the idea of standing/footprints and followed this path with footprints marked with the theme on them.

The footprints led everyone to the gym where we had a table set up for each YW value with its coordinating color.  The girls decorated and presented their own tables, and they were so cute.  Everyone did an awesome job

Faith

Divine Nature

Integrity

After the first 7 values we went back into the Relief Society room where the Virtue table was set up with pictures of the YW leaders at the temple.  Talisha, my counselor, gave the best talk about her experience with Virtue.  (Talisha why are there no pics of you??)

The rest of the program including musical performances, a poem, and the little beehives coming up to be introduced to everyone.  Afterward, we had gifts for everyone, cupcakes, and cute cookies.
It was a lot of work but it was all worth it!
Thanks for all the pics Talisha!

We're Safe Now... Hopefully.

Last week Aaron spent 3 hours under the car breaking his neck and arms installing cages around our catalytic converters.  Our right converter was stolen twice in less than 6 weeks and it's a MAJOR hassle to get it replaced. We had to do something.  We were at a DEF CON 5 situation, but now that we are prepared, we are at a DEF CON 1 level in the Smith parking stall.

The two missile looking canisters on the left and right are the converters.

After car surgery-
The web site for these describes how to install them, and then says the following:

"The end result is an intimidating, confusing, durable, rattle-proof cage around the converter that is locked to the chassis of the vehicle up to 7x. The wire rope is very difficult to cut quickly under the vehicle creating too much work for a thief in a hurry; even with an electric saw (converter thieves tool of choice) forcing the thief to seek out an easier unprotected vehicle."

We'll see how this works out.

This Morning with Griff

Me:  Griffey, please stop licking the car window.
Griff:  But I have to lick it so it will be all clean, and not dirty.
Me: Oh, okay, thank you sweety.

Later, he picked up my phone and said,
"Hi, police man?  I need you to come take Kali to jail because she was a bad girl.  Thank you, bye bye!"

Love that kid!
