Recipe for an Easy Day at the Beach

When you are silly enough to go to the beach on Memorial Day, along with everyone else in California, follow these instructions to keep your children close by:
Step 1: Dig large hole
Step 2: Place children in large hole
Step 3: Do no help them out. Sit back and relax.

While I did come down with strep throat, I think the real trauma here is the Oprah situation. I will gladly admit that I have been a long time viewer of the show and even look forward to watching my tivo'd episodes each night once the kids are in bed. I'm not sure when my Oprah love started, but I know it got pretty serious about 8 years ago when I started college. I remember running home from campus to make it in time for the show. Oprah and her little show have entertained me, taught me, and kept me connected to the world. She keeps saying that this isn't goodbye, and that she will still be around on her new network, OWN, but we all know that it just isn't going to be the same. So what will I do now without my daily Oprah dose? Probably crawl into bed and cry about it.

My Last Prom

Well it wasn't really my last prom, but it was my baby brother's last prom; therefore, my last prom. Krin looked so handsome in his orange tie, to match his date's dress. Love ya krinny!

Diapers No More

Did I mention that potty training is a beautiful thing? Kali has been trained for almost a month now and I couldn't be more impressed with her. It's as though she discovered a way to make the world a better place. She HAS made the world a better place because now I'm only changing 100 diapers a day instead of 200. Love it.

Just yesterday she was swimming in our friend's pool and she actually got out of the pool to tell me she needed to go potty. I know some adults that can't do that!

My Beauty Queen

Kali and I go to a mommy and me preschool class once a week and it is so fun to see how excited she gets about it. She wears this little back pack that holds her snack, and she loves to show it off.

Saturday

Saturday we had an awesome day at the beach. The water was ice cold but this little one didn't seem to care.Then we met up with our besties in town from Washington. After looking at this picture I'm getting concerned at the rapid increase of children.

A Real Princess

I may have gotten a little carried away with the royal wedding this weekend. It wasn't just me though... Kali sat down with me and watched whole thing in awe. She's going through a major princess phase right now so it was really exciting for her to see a real princess, in a real gown,riding in a real horse drawn carriage to a real castle. She loved it just as much as I did.

Later when Kate and Will shared their famous kisses on the balcony, Kali had me replay it again and again. So cute.

I've always heard people say they remember the day that Diana married Charles, and now I will remember this day as the day I snuggled on the couch with Kali watching the pretty princess.
