Visit From Nana & Papa Smith

Last week Nana & Papa Smith and Auntie Mariah came to visit us and we packed the week with lots of beach adventures. I only brought the camera out a few times, but while they were here we hit Seal Beach, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach a few times, and Knott's Berry farm. We had so much fun and miss them in our home already.

Kali didn't leave Mariah's side the whole week

Ding Dong the Rash is Gone

I would like to make an announcement: The rash is gone!

If you saw this silly kid in the last 11 weeks, then you saw his lovely red rash that covered most of his body. After nearly 3 months, 4 doctor visits, 6 bottles of special body wash and lotion, lots of tears from mom, and no solid explanations, the rash is gone. It picked up and left the other day out of no where. Yay!

Go Dodgers

Last week was our annual trip to Dodger stadium for the game, but mainly for the all-you-can-eat Dodger Dogs in the outfield. We had a great time but it was a little eerie how empty the stadium was. I've never seen it like that. Not sure if it was because people are too scared after the Stow Beating, or because of the current condition of the team. Either way, we took that stadium by storm.

I Don't Like Cats

I just don't. I don't like how sharp their teeth look, the hissing, the claws, the way they walk around like they are better than you, and I really don't like how indestructible they are. They can jump from any height and be fine. I don't like that. Anyway, there is a cat that gave birth to some kittens behind my apartment a few weeks ago. We watch them through the window all the time, and they are pretty cute but I knew it was only a matter of time until they turned into... well, cats. So this morning some incessant meowing started at 6:30 am and I noticed that one of the kittens was stuck on the roof, and another was stuck on the other side of the fence from where they live. We watched them all day long, trying to get down from the roof, or trying to get to the other side of the fence, and by 2 o clock Griff and I decided to step in. It was operation kitten rescue. The first kitten that was stuck in the yard, ran from me and jump in the wheel well of a car.
Naturally, one would think that you would just reach your hand in and pull the sweet kitty out, but since I have a thing about cats, it took me about 20 minutes to work up the courage. I was only able to do it after I put on Aaron's most heavy duty motorcycle gloves for protection.

Griff was amazed.

Kitty #2 was much easier. I climbed on a ledge, and grabbed that sucker with my motorcycle glove. No problems.

Griff was a huge help.

Both kitties were returned to Mama cat and the meowing finally stopped. Kitty rescuing is hard work but someone has got do it.
